Bleh, who gets up this early in the morning? You groan as you make your way through the morning streets of Wynsiph. The sun is barely up and only the birds seem excited about it. Grumbling, you slouch towards the nova tree, as it's the fastest route to where you need to be this morning.
To your surprise, the main square has quite a handful of wyngrew mingling about, and you wonder why. You notice a young imp standing off to the side, easily recognizable as the imp, Inka! She catches your curious eye and doesn't hesitate to trot over to you.
Inka: Hello there! Are you here for the morning stretching?
You shake your head, explaining that you're just passing by.
Inka: Oh, so you've never done them with us before! How exciting! (She grabs you by the hand and gently pulls you over towards the others) You will join us, right? It feels great and it's really important to loosen up for the day!
You hesitantly smile at the other wyngrew in the back behind Inka, who all look excited to have you join them. You try to brush Inka off, explaining that you don't really need to do stretches, and that you feel fine.
Inka: Oh my gosh, that's exactly how I used to feel! But let me tell you, I regretted not doing anything about my aches and pains for so long! It all started when…
You feel a flashback coming on, but it's too late to escape now. Inka is already painting a picture of herself, sitting in the office of Dr. F's hospital one day after a particularly sharp pain in her neck...

Whoa!
Dr.F: So what can I help you with today, Miss Inka?
Inka: Thank you so much for seeing me Dr. F. Um, I keep having these neck cramps lately, and last night, I could barely get out of bed! I got this pinch in my neck that was so painful, I could barely move it to get over here! Ow! It still hurts…
Dr.F: Hmmm, that simply won’t do. Let’s have a look at that. (he puts slight pressure on the back of her neck)
Inka: Ouch! (She flinches.)
Dr.F: That tender, huh? I think I might have an idea of what's going on.
Inka: What’s wrong? (She rubs her neck.)
Dr.F: Stiff muscles and a slight misalignment in your lower cervical spine. Have you been bending your neck for long periods of time?
Inka: Well yeah, I do a lot of sewing, and I can't see what I'm doing if I don't bend my neck! It's long!
Dr.F: (He chuckles) I see that. Deep breath for me, please.
Inka: (She takes a deep breath and Dr. F cracks her neck back in place with one swift motion) ACK!
Dr.F: How’s that feeling?
Inka: (she rubs her neck) ...sore but… (she straightens her neck out, looking surprised) I can actually move it now! Doctor, you're a miracle worker!!
Dr.F: (he smiles and blushes, modestly waving off the compliment) A temporary adjustment, really. Too much time focusing your neck in the same position for hours like that is going to cause this tension, especially since you have a longer neck than most wyngrew. It puts your vertebrae at a slight disadvantage!
Inka: (she sighs, rubbing her neck) I hate this stupid long neck. It just makes everything hard to see!
Dr.F: It’s an easy enough problem to deal with however. You just need to make sure to do some stretches before and after your sewing, and taking regular breaks.
Inka: (she groans) Stretches? Isn’t that for like….older gros?
Dr.F: (He laughs heartily) Not at all! It’s always important to stretch at any age! If you're going to be doing something for long periods of time, it's especially important. Here, I even have this book you can borrow on some basic stretches to do that will really help the health of your neck and your whole body!" (He passes her a book called "10 Minutes Stretches: Your Guide to a Healthy Life")
Inka: Hmmm, well, I guess it's worth a shot...
As Inka wraps up her story, she explains how much she got into it, and would love it if you joined. You feel bad saying no, especially after she says it will only take a few minutes. So after several minutes of rambling and excitedly tugging you along, Inka squeals with delight and directs you to a space to join the group.
Inka: Okay, you can take that mat right over there! Now, you don't have to do all the stretches at first if you don't want to -- you can just watch us to get an idea! (She smiles sincerely at you)
Inka: Just do the best you can, and you'll get better every day! Okay, you ready? I'll show you some good beginner stretches, just follow my lead!
Inka takes her position in front of everyone else, acting as a sort of orchestral maestro for everyone to follow. As she does each stretch, she explains what you need to do, and encourages everyone she sees doing it. You feel a little silly as bypassers look on curiously, but Inka's excited enthusiasm is pretty contagious.
Inka: You did so well! (Inka runs up to you after the stretches are done, beaming with pride) Will you come back and join us tomorrow?
